Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
My Thoughts:
At first I kept seeing this book when I'd walk through Barnes and Nobles or the library, not giving it much thought but it always caught my eye. Honestly I will admit I judged it because it was sitting next to twilight at the library lol
BUT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT IT

I picked it up on a whim, just to see if it was just another cinderella re-tell or not, and I got engrossed in it after just a few chapters.
The way the author writes paints a picture of a futuristic world that plays like a movie in my head.
Im normally not really into SciFi, but this book makes me have to change my mind a bit.
And the characters in this book are all so intersting.
Cinder is a cyborg mechanic orphan (what a mouthful) girl who works at a weekly market with her android companion Iko(who is so sarcastic and sassy and I love her!)
Theres a prince who is kinda at a loss at what to do half the time, He is a likable guy because he ISNT perfect, and thats why I think he is so great c;
There is a doctor who I hated at first but he is really important actually.
I love Cinders younger sister Peony, and I strongly dislike her sister pearl and her step mom Adri.
The queen is CRAZY, and I fear for characters when she is involved.
There is illness, robots, moon people, and SO.MUCH.SUSPENSE. I couldnt stop anywhere it seemed because I was always on edge waiting to see what would happen.
The giant reveal in the the book was somewhat predictable, because of hinting and foreshadowing, but I dont think that ruined it at all for me.
I hate the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger, and im so glad that when I went to the library the next day I was lucky to find the second book on the shelves(which Ive already finished oops :3 ), I might have gone mad if I hadn't found it.
